Interview in Süddeutsche Zeitung news podcast 'Auf den Punkt'
In an episode of the Süddeutsche Zeitung news podcast 'Auf den Punkt' published on 6 April 2024 under the title 'What is the use of public international law if not everyone abides by it?', Professor Walter comments on the public international law categories 'genocide', 'war crimes' and 'internationally wrongful act'. Reference is made to the cases pending before the International Court of Justice against Israel and Germany and the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. The episode is available in German.
Can the AfD be banned?
The AfD is gaining votes in forecasts and most recently in the repeat election in Berlin - will this also apply to the state elections in Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg? At the same time, the party poses a real threat to democracy with its statements and its behaviour towards right-wing extremists. Is there any way to stop it? Are there legal means to do so? Professor Walter answers these questions in the BAdW podcast (in German).
Panel discussion at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities
As part of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences' forum entitled "The World Is Rearranging Itself - Threats and Opportunities", Professor Walter will be discussing the topic of 'Threatened Security Order' (Panel 1) on 8 February 2024 from 7 to 10 p.m. The panel discussion will be held in German.
Why Germany Should Join Sides with Israel before the ICJ in its Defense against South Africa's Accusation of Genocide
On 12 January 2024, Professor Walter's article was published on the Verfassungsblog, in which he addresses the question of why Germany should intervene before the ICJ in the case South Africa v. Israel.
Grand Chamber hearing before the ECHR
On 1 March 2023, oral proceedings were held before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights in the case Humpert and Others v. Germany, in which Professor Walter assisted the German government as counsel. On 14 December 2023, the Court ruled in favor of the Federal Government.
Interview with beck-aktuell
In an interview with Professor Walter published on beck-aktuell on 3 March 2023, the Israeli government´s plans for judicial reform were discussed. The interview is available in German.
Public Hearing in the German Bundestag
On 6 February 2023, Professor Walter took part in a public hearing of the Comittee on Foreign Affairs in the German Bundestag on the topic of 'Prosecution and ending impunity in view of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine'. The public hearing is availabe in German.

In an interview entitled 'A New World Order' with LMU INSIGHTS magazine, Professor Walter and historian Professor Kiran Klaus Patel discussed the significance of Russia´s war of aggression against Ukraine for the coestistence of nations and international norms.
