Starting in the coming winter semester, LMU’s Faculty of Law will expand its range of degree programs with a new, fully English-taught program: the LL.M. in European and International Economic Law (LLMuc).

Introducing LLMuc – the first fully English-taught degree program at LMU’s Faculty of Law

Starting in the coming winter semester, LMU’s Faculty of Law will expand its range of degree programs with a new, fully English-taught program: the LL.M. in European and International Economic Law (LLMuc). This marks the first time that LMU has offered an exclusively English-taught law degree and represents an important step toward enhancing the faculty’s international orientation and accessibility for international students.

The new LLMuc program is designed for international students who have already obtained a first law degree in their home jurisdiction and wish to deepen their knowledge of European and International Economic Law. The program spans two semesters and begins exclusively in the winter semester (early October). A combination of compulsory and elective modules allows students to tailor their studies according to their individual academic interests. A particularly attractive feature of the program is that it is tuition-free, ensuring accessibility regardless of financial background.

With the introduction of the LLMuc program, LMU offers a new group of international students the opportunity to study in Munich and become part of its long-established Faculty of Law. At the same time, the program contributes to LMU’s ongoing international engagement and supports Munich’s role as a center for research and education.

Further information – including the application process – can be found here.

The application period begins on January 12, 2026.

The Faculty of Law looks forward to receiving numerous applications and welcoming the first students to Munich in October 2026.
