At the Faculty of Law at LMU Munich, you can study law as part of various (partial) degree programmes with German or foreign university entrance qualifications.
Do you already hold a law degree from Germany or abroad and are considering pursuing an LL.M.? The Faculty of Law offers two distinct postgraduate programs: the LL.M. in German Law, and the LL.M. in European and International Economic Law, the latter being taught entirely in English.
Admission to the programme is only possible in the winter semester. Ms Mira Ndrenika and Ms Gundula Pabst will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the content of the programmes.

Would you like to study law – in the traditional sense – as your main subject and graduate with the First State Examination in Law (Erste Juristische Staatsprüfung)? The First State Examination is a prerequisite for the legal clerkship, which concludes with the Second State Examination. You can supplement your studies in Munich with a stay abroad (e.g. Erasmus+, LMUexchange, Japan-Korea Programme or Paris Programme). The standard period of study is 10 semesters. Admission to the programme is restricted until the 4th semester and is only possible in the winter semester. Our academic advisor, Dr Britta Wolff Dr. Britta Wolff, will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the content of the programme.

Would you like to focus your studies on another subject (such as political science or communication studies) and study law as a minor? This is also possible at the Faculty of Law. Law can only be taken as a minor in the winter semester and is open to all students. Ms Kirstin Neumann will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the content.

Students of business administration, economics and related subjects, as well as teacher training students, also receive legal training at the Faculty of Law.
